Phuket, Thailand Travel Guide :: Instagram Worthy Spots

Beautiful white sand beaches, crystal blue water, and limestone cliffs await you in Phuket, Thailand. Thank you to Tourism Authority of Thailand for partnering with me to share with you my Phuket travel experience in January 2022. It’s been over 10 years since I’ve been back to Thailand and so much has changed. This time around, I had a chance to travel with a few creators like Shelbi from BucketListBums, Jerome from JeromeTraveller, and Natalie from MissHattan.

If you're planning your next romantic beach front getaway to Thailand, be sure to stay at V Villas Phuket MGallery!

With panoramic views across Ao Yon Bay, this luxury resort offers 24 hour butler service (the sweetest staff) that are here to assist your every need. As shown on the left, they have the most beautiful roof top bar called AKOYA|Star Lounge rooftop bar with 360° night sky and ocean views serving up delicious cocktails as well. They have spacious villas with many amenities like a private infinity pool, jacuzzi, and a large walk in closet room. You’ll never need to leave the property because they have delicious European and Thai coastal cuisine, a relaxing spa and yoga studio! We stayed for 7 days and it was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. I highly recommend for a honeymoon or private getaway for the ultimate luxury experience.

For the first time, my checked bag didn’t arrive with my flight. Luckily the staff at V Villas helped retrieve the bag within 24 hours and made sure I had pajamas and amenities for the night. The bed was super comfortable and felt like a cloud after a long day of exploring. In the mornings, head over to the restaurant to grab breakfast at the buffet. Honestly, I had the best pineapple fried rice there!! Or you can order an instagram worthy floating breakfast like we did to our villa. They had some of our favorite American classics like waffles along with fruit, pastries, fruit juices like fresh coconuts. Seriously cannot be missed on your trip!

Favorite Restaurants in phuket

Address: 88/4 Vichitsongkram Rd, Tambon Talat Nuea, เมือง Phuket 83000, Thailand

Did you know that roughly 10-12% of the population is made up of Chinese descent? But there is a long history of intermixing which results in a popularity in Chinese food like dim sum! Heng heng is a friendly restaurant where you can select your favorite dumplings, small dishes from the fridge and have it steamed in front of you. It’s great for large groups so you can try a little bit of everything. I really enjoyed the open air atmosphere and plants.

Address: 310/51 M.1 Baandon-Cherngtalay Rd Thalang District, Phuket, Thailand

Ma Doo Bua is a charming cafe situated on an artificial lily pond (did you know that each lily pad can hold up to 50kg). We ordered the crispy appetizers to share for the table. Refreshing boba thai ice tea to beat the heat and spicy clay pot rice. And if you pay a small fee, you can sit on a long tail boat and take drone photos!

A forest cafe that overlooks the jungle between Phuket Town and Chalong. I loved the ambiance of the private pods and Bali-like sofas. You must order the passionfruit smoothie, pork bbq ribs, papaya salad, and calamari. PS: This restaurant is part of Hunuman World Zipline, so you can easily zipline after your meal!

During the day, walk around this neighborhood to go shopping for the latest fashion and accessories. Grab ice cream from Torry’s for delicious traditional ice cream flavors. At night, the colorful street in Old Town transforms into a bustling night market filled with local food and treasures. I found an assortment of bbq skewers, noodles, seafood, and desserts. You can also shop for souvenirs, clothes and accessories.

AddressRatsada, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83000, Thailand

This is one of the newer more modern night markets in Phuket, just off of Yaowarat Road. Night markets are a great way to experience local culture through food. There are dozens of stalls where you can build your own stir fry dishes, seafood omelets, and even try crispy bugs! Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the cricket because of the thai basil and crispy texture. Cool down with a fresh sugarcane juice because it can be very hot and humid this time of year. And if you’re looking to do a little bit of shopping, I saw lots of cute crop tops, skirts, jeans, and graphic tees.

Address: 202/88, Choeng Thale, Thalang District, Phuket 83110, Thailand

A modern and stylish beach club located on Bangtao Beach that is a must if you’re looking to dance to house music. Arrive at sunset and take order a cocktail by the bar. You can’t miss the cute photo app on the beach swing. They have an open-air restaurant that offers fresh bbq seafood, sushi, and authentic thai cuisine. Overall a fun experience to enjoy with a large group of friends or lover!

This was the most memorable experience you need to add to your itinerary either at the beginning or end! We chartered a catamaran to cruise along the coast of Phuket to Promthep Cape. The boat has plenty of comfortable seating and the crew welcomed us with blue cocktails. We were dropped us off at Koh He for swimming and snorkeling in the turquoise blue water. Then we enjoyed a seafood feast while watching the sun set, truly such a beautiful memory.

BEST PHOTOGRAPHY Spots

Address: ยอดเขานาคเกิด Karon, Mueang Phuket District, Phuket 83100, Thailand

The Great Buddha, is a seated Maravija Buddha statue - the third tallest statue in Phuket, Thailand. It stands at 45 metres (148 feet) tall and 25.45 metres (83.5 feet) wide and is made of concrete and Burmese white marble. You can climb the 268 steps to a viewing platform where you can walk around the entire statue for lovely views of Lantau Island and the Po Lin Monastery.

A stunning sunrise or sunset spot to see a panoramic viewpoint of Phang Nga Bay and the fantastic limestone formations. We woke up at 4am and took a private car from our hotel to the viewpoint which took about 2 hours. Do note that the roads are rocky, so prepare motion sickness medicine. There are plenty of spots created for great photo moments like this walkaway (a little shakey), rattan swings, benches, and more! Bring your tripod if you plan to take sunrise or sunset photos.

Along this beach you’ll find no shortage of instagram worthy photo opps like a rattan heart chair, swings that propel you over the beach, a bath tub, and even a small bar by the beach. You must take a 15 minute car ride down to the beach, which can be quite bumpy and rough but totally worth it for a more quiet beach experience with turquoise water.

Address: 6 Chao Fah Tawan Tok Rd, Chalong, Muang, Phuket 83000, Thailand

Wat Chalong is one of the must-see temples in Phuket. The pagoda is decorated with wall paintings depicting the Buddha's life story and also features various Buddha images.
