Don’t have an Instagram boyfriend or girlfriend, no problem! How I take my own pictures with a tripod and phone as a remote. Here’s my top 10 tips to taking better advanced selfies.

1. Use your phone as a camera remote for your DSLR. (Use a camera with the WIFI function on).

2. Test unique poses at home before trying in public.

3. Photoshop a boring background with Quickshot.

4. Use Instagram for inspiration. Sprinkles are a great prop to create a unique portrait.

5. Take a mirror selfie with your own unique spin.

6. Visit an Instagrammable dessert cafe.

7. Match with a friend.

8. Walk at an angle instead of straight towards the camera.

9. When asking a friend or family to take your picture, take a test / sample photo.

10. Don’t know what to do with your hands? Create triangles with your body.
