Hosting a Birthday Brunch in San Francisco :: Le Marché
I had the chance to host an intimate birthday brunch at Le Marché to celebrate my 27th Birthday! Le Marais Bakery is one of the most instagrammable cafes in San Francisco. The darling French bakery now has a shop that doubles as a venue space! If you’re looking to host a party in San Francisco, keep on reading for my best hostess tips and hacks!
The Location
Le Marché is a European-style marketplace showcasing locally and French-made goods. It is also a beautiful venue space perfect for hosting a birthday party, baby shower, or work off-site event (DIY Croissant station or crafting, sign me up)! The space is well-lit and decorated with beautiful barn doors and string lights! Every corner is photo-worthy! It was definitely spacious enough for my party if 8 guests. Book your next event here.
Address:
1144 Sutter Street.

For the party, I decorated the space with pink and gold foiled balloons and a ‘celebrate’ banner! To add a pop of color to the table, I sprinkled rainbow confetti and flower petals on the table. I purchased my party decor from Paper Source. To elevate the tablescape, bring fresh flowers.
We had a variety of fresh croissants, coffee and water for the guests on the table upon arrival. If you’re enjoying brunch at the cafe, be sure to order the avocado toast, DIY breakfast board, and croque de madame! They can’t be missed! Save room for a slice of moist Pain de Gênes cake! My friend added a little decorative touch to the cake with a few flowers, just for photography purposes.
Be sure to add personalized touches to your party with DIY name cards. I printed the labels and added a tiny wooden clip. Capture the party with a polaroid camera. Shop my party decorations and supplies all in one spot on my Amazon Store here.
Activity :: Rolling your own croissants
After a quick mimosa toast, we moved onto our first activity: rolling and stuffing our own croissants. We learned the best techniques and tips from the in-house bakers. They prepared a variety of freshly made fruit jams, almond cream, chocolate, and other fillings. We even had the chance to stuff some double baked croissants! DELICIOUS! Overall, this was a huge hit with my guests! Always provide an activity for your guests beyond the food, it definitely makes the event more memorable!

Bakery Tour
After we rolled our croissants, we had the chance to pop in next door into Le Marais for a bakery tour. Boy did it smell delicious! We watched the pastry chefs knead the dough from scratch, bake the chocolate croissants, and prepare the brunch dishes. What a joy to see the magic unfold!
Party Favors
Le Marche takes the guess work out of party favors! The shop is filled with artisanal gifts and decor that your friends and family will love! Plus, we were able to take home the croissants we rolled from the class (can be stored for up to 3 months in the freezer). Special thank you to my friends at Le Marais Bakery for hosting my birthday party! This is a birthday party I will always cherish in my heart!
