7 Fall Basics Every Short Girl Needs

Hey friends! Summer is finally coming to a close and I can’t be-leaf it’s almost Autumn! With the weather cooling down, I wanted to share a few wardrobe basics I will be reaching for in the new season. From oversized coats to cozy cardigans, these basics will have you covered! Shopping might be a struggle if you’re in the short / petite girl club!

Tip 1. Cinch oversized Coats with a belt or waist tie. If you can’t find either, use a safety pin or sew to cinch the waist.

Tip 2. Shades of green will be popping up everywhere! From lime green to forest green, try a blazer with a monochromatic base. This gives you the illusion of longer and leaner legs.

Tip 3. I always reach for cropped sweaters even in the Fall. Although they don’t appear “cropped” i like to pair this basic with a plaid or checkered pant.

Tip 4. Cardigans are a must in the Fall! Update this basic by wearing it backwards tucked into pants or a skirt.

Tip 5. Utilize your jacket to it’s fullest potential. I love layering in the Fall but to avoid looking frumpy, show off all of your layers with scrunched sleeves.

Tip 6. Tweed is a challenging fabric for me to style but it definitely balances my youthful appearance. With bolder jackets, I keep my base monochromatic. I wore this cropped Rent the Runway Jacket with a Black Jumpsuit.

Tip 7. Chambray Shirts were an essential for me during the summer and I plan to take this basic into the fall. Go with a denim on denim look by pairing with high waisted black jeans. Tie backwards for a unique look.
