Where to Stay in Napa Valley :: Mount View Boutique Hotel
Happy first day of Summer! Last week, I treated my sister to a wine country road trip for some much-needed rest and relaxation. The drive from San Francisco to Napa is always a treat with the rolling hills covered in vines.
Hotel:We first checked into our Artistry Cottage at the Mount View Hotel in Calistoga. We stayed in the Lava room on the second floor with a comfy king bed with an adjoining living room area. The hotel is conveniently located in charming Downtown Calistoga, with artisanal wine shops, cheese shops, and an array of restaurants. Breakfast in bed is always a good idea! We grabbed an Eggs Benedict, fruit salad, and a couple of coffees from Johnny's next door.
Mount View has a gorgeous pool and spa. Unfortunately, it was raining the day we arrived, so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool. However, we were treated to a relaxing deep tissue massage. Since I've been dealing with seasonal allergies, the masseuse recommended that I try their Himalayan Salt Sauna, which has respiratory and skin benefits. Ahh, what a relaxing evening! Each Artistry room comes with a complementary bottle of wine! This was a great way to "wine" down for the evening. Cheers!
Day Activities:
+ Calistoga Hot Air Balloons: The pick up location is conveniently located across the street from the Mount View. Flights depart at 5:30am and the entire experience lasts for about 4-5 hours from launch, to the 1-hour flight, landing, and coffee.
+ Castello di Amorosa: A 13th Century inspired Tuscan castle winery located 10 minutes from our hotel. Explore the multiple level castle and enjoy a premium wine tasting. Tours start at $40/person. Be sure to check the calendar for special events!
Thank you for the wonderful stay Mount View Hotel! I can't wait to be back!
